Executive AI literacy

Fluency - AI Training

A hands-on executive AI literacy programme tailored to the audience and the organisation, its tools and its priorities.

  • Executive teams and senior leaders
  • Tailored to the organisation
  • In person

Programme overview

Confidence comes from using the tools, not watching them.

Fluency is NxtLab's facilitated AI literacy programme for executive teams, senior leaders, boards, executive PAs and other organisational cohorts. It is bespoke to the audience and client requirements rather than a one-size-fits-all offer. NxtLab has delivered training to executive teams and boards of ASX companies, as well as executive PAs and other organisational cohorts. Professor Amy Shi-Nash leads the sessions in person, using the organisation's own tools and real examples; follow-up support can continue by Teams or Zoom.

Why it matters

The licence is not the capability.

Many organisations have rolled out AI licences, but leaders need hands-on time with the tools in their own context. Fluency closes that gap and helps teams build practical confidence and shared judgement.

Outcomes

Three outcomes.

Understand AI fundamentals

Know AI history and evolution, cut through noise and AI jargons, and position strategic opportunities and risks.

Improve personal productivity

Learn how to make AI writes like you, thinks with you, and works for you

Set direction with confidence

From lived experience to enterprise thinking. Discuss opportunity, risk, governance and the operating model with teams, peers and the board.

How it works

Three principles.

In their own work

Every exercise uses a real document or task each executive brings, so the learning lands immediately.

Confidence before complexity

Personal fluency first, then scaling that fluency into reusable AI agents and shared governance.

Safe to experiment

Sessions run as a coached peer-learning environment, not a lecture.

The programme

An illustrative sequence, tailored to the cohort.

The topics below are a starting point, not a fixed three-workshop package. We shape the order, depth and pacing to the organisation, and can revisit the work days or weeks later for practice and questions.

  1. Topic 1 — Personal fluency

    What participants do
Work live on a real document or recurring task, testing core concepts, prompting and critical review of AI output.
    What they leave with
A personal prompting pattern, a review habit and a task they can repeat immediately.
  2. Topic 2 — Agents and governance

    What participants do
Build a reusable AI assistant for a recurring task, then discuss opportunity, risk and governance in a facilitated roundtable.
    What they leave with
A working assistant for the portfolio and a clearer view of the decisions it creates.
  3. Topic 3 — Strategic direction

    What participants do
Work through strategic AI direction and the operating model needed to scale adoption responsibly.
    What they leave with
A draft direction and operating-model decisions to take into the leadership team.

Bring us the problem worth solving.

Bring the leadership team, the tools you already use and the work that needs to get easier. We will shape the programme around that, and continued support and further strategy or development consulting can be tailored to your needs.
